# White House unveils more details of Trump’s Venezuela oil deal

> The Trump administration says the US will form a private joint venture with North American Blue Energy Partners, owned by Venezuelan businessman Alejandro Betancourt. The Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital will hold 35 percent, while the US will be able to buy 20 percent of output at cost. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez is granting the company 100-year rights to 17 fields, and Betancourt has pledged $100bn for new oil infrastructure.
