> Landslides in Nepal on August 26 sent flooding through Tibet’s Gyirong Port. By August 31, deaths in the two countries had reached 950 and nearly 4,500 people were missing, including many pilgrims travelling toward Mount Kailash. The port is a major overland link between Nepal and China and the most popular route for Indian and overseas pilgrims.
