> Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces, accompanied by settlers and rabbis. He prayed there and appeared to call for a Jewish temple on the Muslim holy site, while declaring that its historical status quo should be changed. The Jerusalem governorate condemned the move as a dangerous escalation and a violation of the site’s status.
