> The United States has launched its first strikes on Iran in a month, targeting Larak island in the Strait of Hormuz. Washington says the operation sought to prevent Tehran from laying mines in the strategic shipping lane, days after announcing the area had been cleared of explosives. Iran then said it had attacked two US bases in Jordan.
