> Iran says it launched retaliatory attacks on US bases in Jordan and US military assets in the UAE after the US struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. The exchange is described as the first direct clash between the sides since late July. US and Jordanian officials said missiles aimed at Jordan were intercepted, while Iran called its action self-defence.
