> Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and more than a dozen other leaders are set to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s annual summit in Kyrgyzstan. Although the group says it is not an alliance against other states, Putin and Xi have used it to promote a multipolar worldview and present a united front against the West. Iran’s Masoud Pezeshkian and Türkiye’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan are also expected to attend.
