> Iran launched retaliatory strikes after the US attacked Larak Island. The strikes were Washington’s first against Iran in about a month, after the Trump administration shifted toward inflicting maximum economic pain on Tehran. The US says they aimed to stop Iranian forces from disrupting global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
