# Trump: US will use Venezuelan oil to replenish strategic reserves

> Donald Trump says the US administration plans to use oil obtained through its deal with Venezuela to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. He said the “topping out” process would begin shortly and called it a gift from Venezuela to Americans. Trump also said the August 28 agreement secured majority US control of more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuela’s proven reserves.
