# Cryptocurrency trading in Russia may reach $46.43 bln in first year

> Cryptocurrency trading in Russia is expected to remain below 4 trillion rubles ($46.43 billion) in its first year and could reach about 7.5 trillion rubles ($87.06 billion) by 2029, Sberbank Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov said. The estimate is conservative because many transactions will continue through crypto exchange services rather than exchanges, while the new law takes effect on September 1.
