> A Gallup Korea poll found that 65% of South Koreans support the country possessing its own nuclear weapons, while 30% oppose the idea. Support is shared across political camps, with backing from 78% of People Power Party supporters and 60% of Democratic Party voters. The government says developing nuclear weapons would violate the non-proliferation system and could bring sanctions.
