# 'High risk' of lake bursting and causing second flood, warns China

> China warns that a barrier lake formed by a landslide near the Nepal-Tibet border could burst in the coming days and trigger another downstream flood. The lake is overflowing continuously, forcing rescue operations near Gyirong Port to stop. About 2.5 million cubic metres of water has accumulated, with another 3 million expected to flow in.
