> A massive glacial collapse near the Nepal-China border triggered rare glacial-lake outburst floods that submerged towns and villages, destroying bridges and highways. Hundreds have died and more than 1,500 people are missing, including over 800 foreign tourists. Experts and the US Geological Survey said an earthquake was a consequence of the collapse and debris flow, not its cause. Himalayan glaciers are rapidly losing ice as the climate warms.
