> The death toll from flooding that began in Nepal on August 26 has risen to 157, Ratopati reported, citing police. Chitwan District recorded the most fatalities, with 64 bodies found, while 41 injured people are in hospital. More than 3,300 police officers have joined search-and-rescue efforts. Preliminary data links the flooding to a snow-and-rock avalanche near the Nepal-China border.
