> The UN says at least 47 people were killed and more than 50 kidnapped when armed men attacked Kenscoff, a once-peaceful community near Haiti’s capital, earlier this week. Believed to be one of the country’s largest mass kidnappings in recent years, the assault has renewed anger over police failures. A gang leader has threatened to kill the hostages if authorities kill gang members while securing the area.
