> Devastating floods struck northern Nepal near the Tibet border, killing at least 31 people and leaving hundreds missing, including nearly 300 foreign tourists. Preliminary information suggests an earthquake triggered an avalanche that blocked a river before floodwaters swept through villages and damaged roads, bridges and hydropower infrastructure.
