> A spokesperson for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts said Justice Department attorneys’ warning that the Washington institution might be demolished described only a hypothetical scenario. The statement concerned a filing suggesting demolition could follow if courts blocked Donald Trump’s overhaul plan. Renovations have also been challenged in court by historians’ and architects’ groups.
