> Wildfires sweeping through forests and peatlands in South Sumatra have blanketed parts of Indonesia in hazardous haze. About 3,000 people held a special prayer for rain in Palembang, while emergency crews used aircraft for cloud seeding and water bombing. Authorities arrested 72 people over alleged land-clearing fires, and smoke has reached Malaysia and Brunei.
