# Iran warns countries joining US ‘economic war’ will face retaliation

> Iran’s top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, warned that countries taking part in the US “economic war” against Iran would be treated as enemies and face “seismic” retaliation. He said Tehran would first seek talks, but could strike a country’s interests if it did not step away from Washington. Iran also threatened Gulf oil exports, including routes outside the Strait of Hormuz.
