> South Korea says the 2026 Ulchi Freedom Shield exercise will end on 21 August, six days earlier than planned, after a US proposal to adjust its timing and scale. Donald Trump called the drills costly and hostile, and linked his decision to South Korea’s refusal to assist the US with a military operation in Iran.
