> US President Donald Trump says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has responded to his outreach and described the exchange as “very positive”. Trump again criticised South Korea for refusing to join the war on Iran and said reducing joint drills would make the South safer. Seoul said the exercises began as planned and were intended to protect peaceful daily life, not attack the North or raise tensions.
