> A wildfire in Belgium’s eastern High Fens nature reserve near the German border has burned about 2,700 hectares, making it the country’s largest on record. Around 600 residents were evacuated from parts of Waimes, Sourbrodt and Buetgenbach amid shifting winds and heavy smoke. The EU sent helicopters and water-bombing aircraft to help contain the blaze.
