> Record wildfires in Indonesia’s West Kalimantan have reached within 100 metres of the Yiari orangutan rehabilitation centre after 40 rainless days. Staff moved all 60 resident orangutans to central enclosures and joined firefighting efforts as authorities water-bombed the forest. The fire later stabilised, but hot, dry conditions are expected to persist.
