> Unprecedented rain in Chiba prefecture killed at least four people, flooded roads and cut power to nearly 25,000 households. More than 6,000 travelers spent the night stranded at Narita airport. Japan issued its highest-level heavy-rain warning for the region for the first time before downgrading it to level 4.
