> The Washington Post, citing sources, says the United States lost 45 MQ-9 Reaper drones during the war with Iran, nearly a quarter of its fleet. The low-flying, relatively slow drones became easy targets in the Strait of Hormuz. The losses reportedly cost US taxpayers $1.3 billion; some aircraft crashed after operators lost contact rather than being shot down.
