> Romania has shut its only nuclear power station at Cernavodă after prolonged hot weather drove the Danube to exceptionally low levels. Its two reactors provide about 20% of the country’s electricity, and the plant is not expected to restart within 10 days. Low water is also cutting hydropower output and disrupting European rivers, agriculture and transport.
