> The Economist reports that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov routinely expresses support for Russia’s war against Ukraine. Kadyrov says the republic has sent 70,000 men to fight. Yet Chechens account for only 0.2% of Russia’s confirmed war dead. The report argues that Chechnya’s authorities do not in fact share the Kremlin’s interests in the war.
