# Spain rejects discussion of Ceuta and Melilla sovereignty with Morocco

> Spanish officials said on Wednesday that the status of the North African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla as Spanish territories is not open for discussion. Their remarks followed a renewed assertion by Morocco’s justice minister that Rabat holds sovereignty claims over the two cities. Spain has therefore ruled out talks on the enclaves’ sovereignty.
