> North Korea has conducted a missile test shortly before planned military drills involving the United States and South Korea. Japan said the suspected ballistic missile was launched in the direction of Japan. Tokyo assessed that it likely fell just outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. The launch comes as the allied exercises are about to begin.
