> The US military says it opened fire on a cargo ship that allegedly tried to breach an Iranian blockade. CENTCOM said a helicopter targeted the engine room of the Panama-flagged Vela Nova. The incident occurred as diplomacy between Washington and Tehran remained stalled. The account places a maritime confrontation alongside the continuing diplomatic deadlock.
