> Pakistan said on Tuesday that the United States and Iran were nearing “some sort” of agreement. Qatar, which is also acting as a mediator, said discussions on managing the Strait of Hormuz had reached an advanced stage. The comments came despite reports of fresh attacks on shipping in regional waters. Diplomatic efforts are therefore continuing alongside renewed maritime security concerns.
