> Indonesia is intensifying efforts to control forest and land fires in six priority provinces. Authorities have deployed cloud-seeding aircraft to try to generate rain and slow the fires. Officials said haze is now spreading across the region, prompting the government to seek faster containment. The response is focused on reducing both the fires and the expanding haze.
