> The Victorian Liberals have pledged to bring back weekly general rubbish collections if they win the state election in November. Leader Jess Wilson called the fortnightly arrangement in her local area “disgusting”. The party says households would not pay more under the proposed change. Thirty-three Victorian councils have moved general waste services from weekly to fortnightly collections, while similar changes have taken place in other Australian states.
