> Iran has rejected talks with the United States as negotiations involving Oman remain short of a final agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald Trump indicated that Washington was prepared to wait. He said Tehran’s economic suffering could eventually lead it to soften its position. No final deal has yet been reached on restoring passage through the strategic waterway, leaving the diplomatic effort unresolved.
