> Canada’s federal government has announced urgent assistance for British Columbia as exceptionally fast-moving wildfires spread across the province. About 22,000 people have been forced from their homes in frantic evacuations. The BC Wildfire Service said 102 fires were burning on Sunday, with nearly half classified as “out of control”. Seventy-eight of those fires began during the past week, while their breakneck spread has made firefighting efforts increasingly difficult.
