> Iran’s national security chief has set out conditions for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The demands include ending the US naval blockade of Iranian ports, compensation for damage caused by the war and the release of frozen Iranian assets. Separately, Iran and Oman say they are nearing an agreement on how to manage the strategic waterway. The proposals place the waterway’s reopening within broader talks over US military activity and outstanding financial claims.
