> Iran issued demands on Saturday for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, though the conditions have been described as new preconditions. Reporting from Washington, FRANCE 24’s Fraser Jackson said many of them had already been accepted by the United States under the memorandum of understanding signed by Iran and the US in Islamabad in June. He said the main difficulty was that the wording of that agreement was broad, leaving room for differing interpretations of what had been settled.
