> The US Senate has approved Todd Blanche as attorney general despite Democratic opposition. Democrats accused President Donald Trump of politicising the Department of Justice. Blanche previously served as Trump’s personal lawyer during several criminal trials before joining the administration. His confirmation places a former private legal representative of the president at the head of the department.
