> Spain said Friday that it will impose border controls on travellers arriving from Italy. Madrid presented the move as retaliation for Rome introducing comparable measures. The unusual dispute between the two EU members followed an unprecedented rush in which tens of thousands crossed from Morocco into Spain’s North African territory of Ceuta. The crossing was deadly, with people losing their lives amid the migration surge.
