> Foreign ministers from Pacific Island countries are expected to consider on Friday whether to issue a joint statement about China’s missile launch in July. New Zealand is pressing for a response to the launch. Its foreign minister acknowledged that disagreements among the islands could prevent them from reaching a common position. The planned debate will determine whether the group speaks collectively.
