> UEFA, European football’s governing body, again backed its World Cup boycott on Thursday. The reaffirmation came a day after FIFA apologised for “errors” linked to its abandoned proposal to sell stakes in the tournament to private investors. The plan, promoted by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, has pushed football’s global governing body into its most serious governance crisis in years. It has also renewed questions about Infantino’s future as president.
