> Nigerian security forces have rescued more than 300 people abducted by militants. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called the operation successful and described it as the country’s largest single-day hostage recovery. Military, police and counter-terrorism units worked together to free captives held in dense forest inside Kainji Lake national park in the north-central region. The rescue came as Nigeria continues to face endemic kidnapping for ransom and worsening insecurity.
