> The U.S. Senate confirmed Dr. Erica Schwartz as director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday. The vote gave the Trump administration a rare success. It followed repeated unsuccessful efforts to fill senior health positions. Schwartz’s confirmation marks a step forward for the administration’s health leadership appointments.
