# Iran and Oman reach understanding on Hormuz shipping route coordinates, Iran says

> Iran and Oman have agreed in principle on the geographic coordinates of a shipping route passing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei. He said the two sides were finalising a joint announcement. The announcement would proceed on the condition that certain third parties did not interfere. Baghaei made the statement on Wednesday.
