> The U.S. State Department said on Wednesday that it plans to provide an additional $242 million for the Ebola response in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The new funding would bring the United States’ financial commitment to the effort to nearly twice its previous level. The money is intended to help combat what was described as the second-largest Ebola outbreak in history. The response is focused on eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
