# Wildfire destroys about 230 homes in western Canadian Indigenous community, officials say

Okanagan Indian Band Chief says the Bradley Creek wildfire devastated a large part of the reserve. The community is near Vernon, about 440 kilometers northeast of Vancouver. The destruction has affected much of the reserve, according to the band’s chief.
