> President Isaac Herzog tasked former army chief and Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot with forming Israel’s next government, bypassing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Eisenkot has 28 days, with a possible 14-day extension, to secure at least 61 of the Knesset’s 120 seats. He has ruled out forming a government with Arab-led parties.
