> President Isaac Herzog told Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot he intends to task him with forming a government, with a formal appointment ceremony set for Sunday in Jerusalem. Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition lost its majority in the 27 October election but remained parliament’s largest bloc. Eisenkot’s grouping has rejected joining Arab parties that could give it a majority, though Arab leaders nominated him.
