> Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has moved past an important obstacle in his effort to win confirmation. Republican holdouts on a Senate committee agreed to advance his nomination after Blanche reached an arrangement with them. The committee’s action sends the nomination to the full Senate for a floor vote. The step brings Blanche closer to being confirmed as attorney general.
