> Asian and European markets followed Wall Street lower as a US tech-stock rout fuelled fears that the Democrats’ midterm victory could slow the AI industry. The Nasdaq fell 5.5% on Thursday, while Japan’s Nikkei dropped 6% and South Korea’s Kospi lost more than 8% in early Friday trading. London’s FTSE 100 opened down 1.5%.
