> Washington voters approved Initiative 638, barring transgender girls from girls’ sports teams and requiring students seeking to join those teams to provide healthcare documents verifying their “biological sex.” Opponents warn the rule could subject girls to invasive examinations. It passed with nearly 57% support and is due to take effect in December, though legal challenges may follow.
